Castle Chambers, Liverpool

Originally constructed in the 1950’s, Castle Chambers is an iconic building situated in the Commercial Quarter, in the heart of Liverpool’s business district. Having undergone extensive refurbishment, the building offers seven floors of office space in an unrivalled location.

After having worked with them on numerous projects, we were asked on behalf of CBRE to refurbish the whole of the fifth floor. We provided an exposed services scheme which gave the office more height, allowing the rooms to feel more spacious. We manufactured all bespoke joinery products in our inhouse workshop which minimised the cost to the client. This included; slatted ceilings, vertical uprights and a staff kitchenette with banquet seating.

We also teamed up with I want plants to install 3 no. living walls, containing the following plants:

• Philodendron
• Scindapsus Pictus
• Maranta
• Fern
• Asplenium

Incorporating biophilic elements, such as plants and greenery, within a workspace can help improve office air quality which in turn can help to reduce stress, heighten productivity and increase workplace happiness.

The living walls have a fully automated irrigation system that ensures every area of the wall receives the perfect amount of water, which makes it an efficient and low maintenance feature. Find out more about Hyvert living walls here.

Other services included M&E, lighting, glazing, flooring, doors and providing loose furniture.

Our design team developed hyper realistic, computer-generated images to allow the client to have a near-exact visual of their finished project. Using CGI’s is an ideal way of bringing a designer’s idea to life, it also means that multiple design options can be explored, without the associated costs. The clarity and attention to detail of our visuals ensure nothing is lost later in the process.
