Project: LD24 Cafe, Altrincham

LD24 Cafe, Altrincham

The team at LD24 run a successful coffee shop in the bustling village of Stockton Heath. After over 3 years of business, they decided to open a new branch in Altrincham, designed by the talented Standing Space Interior Designers. Amspec were selected on behalf of Standing Space to carry out the fit out as well as manufacturing all the bespoke joinery in our inhouse workshop.

We designed and manufactured a 7m-long servery with a Corian worktop. The servery has built-in white MFC cabinets and is clad in Stone Lite (veneers of real stone on vinyl tiles). A lowered wood-effect laminate worktop was installed on the customer-facing side to provide a bar for visitors to sit at and enjoy a coffee.

The staff bar was also designed inhouse using SWOOD. It was built with white MFC kitchen units using a new hidden fixing method called Ovvos. We sourced and fit a bespoke, stainless-steel worktop in commercial grade, silicone-coated steel and a matching splashback.

We also designed and manufactured banquet seating using a leather effect, hard-wearing vinyl fabric from Camira Fabrics. The fabric is anti-microbial, waterproof and can be cleaned with bleach which is perfect for a café environment. The seats were built over dual-layered construction foam seat pads, which are comfortable but supportive and will return to their intended shape. Seats were finished with a planter divider not only for aesthetic purposes but also to act as a divider between tables for privacy.

The condiments cupboard was manufactured in a high-grade plywood and a clear lacquer. Internally, a black MFC was used which is cost-effective and easy to clean. The cupboards have lockable storage, designer handles and soft-close hinges. A plywood pegboard was installed on the right of the bar to provide space to display foliage.

We coordinated the installations of all the power, services, drainage and ceiling works, including Radiant heat panels, acoustic panels, AC, lighting, W.C’s and a new mesh lightbox which was installed over the servery.

The project was completed on time and under budget.
