Amspec were appointed as principal contractor by Bruntwood SciTech to refurbish the atrium at Alderley Park, transforming it into a welcoming and contemporary space for building users.

The project began with the strip-out of the existing finishes, followed by a comprehensive programme of refurbishment works. This included new flooring and doors, full decoration, acoustic panels and updated ceiling finishes. Amspec also supplied and installed furniture throughout the atrium.

Bespoke Joinery Manufactured In-House

A significant part of the project was the bespoke joinery package, manufactured by our skilled team at our in-house joinery workshop in Wigan.

Bespoke Planter Seating

A standout feature within the atrium is the large planter seating built into the steps. Combining integrated planting with comfortable seating, it creates an attractive area where people can meet, work or take a break.

Feature Planter

Our team also manufactured a large freestanding planter, introducing greenery into the atrium while helping to define different areas within the open space. Its bespoke design complements the wider joinery package and provides a striking visual feature.

Fitted Seating

Bespoke fitted seating was manufactured and installed throughout the atrium, creating comfortable and practical breakout areas for informal meetings, focused work and relaxation.

Fan Coil Unit Housing

Custom housings were manufactured for the fan coil units, allowing the building services to be integrated neatly into the refurbished space. The enclosures provide a clean, coordinated finish while ensuring the units remain accessible for future maintenance.

Teapoint

The bespoke teapoint provides a convenient refreshment area within the atrium. Manufactured to suit the space, it combines practical storage and worktop space with a high-quality finish that complements the surrounding interior.

The completed refurbishment has created a refreshed and flexible atrium that supports a variety of uses. The combination of new finishes, acoustic treatments and comfortable furniture has transformed the area into an inviting focal point within Alderley Park.
