The Three Mills
We’re proud to have played a role in the transformation of The Three Mills – a former cotton mill in Wigan, now reimagined as a characterful hospitality venue. Delivered in partnership with local developers Heaton Group, the project brings new life to this historic building while celebrating its industrial heritage through carefully crafted joinery and bespoke design.
At the heart of the venue is a bespoke bar - a standout piece of bespoke joinery designed in collaboration with Red Deer Architects and Catering Projects. Featuring real stone counter and cladding, the bar offers a tactile, high-end finish built for both durability and impact. A repurposed steel beam, salvaged from site, forms the footrail – adding an authentic, industrial detail that ties the space to its past.
Working closely with Red Deer, we refined the concept to maintain the original design intent while ensuring a seamless fit for all catering equipment and an ergonomic layout for staff. The structural framework was engineered to allow for confident overhangs and long-term durability.
To the rear of the bar, a copper splashback and antique mirror bring richness and depth, complemented by reclaimed timber shelving for drinks and glassware. Blackboard panels at each end provide a flexible space for menus and messaging.
In addition to the bar, we supplied all loose furniture and created bespoke elements including custom arched fire doors. Every service – power, drainage, data, draft lines and feeds – was meticulously co-ordinated to ensure smooth installation.
The result is a warm, welcoming space that brings modern hospitality into a beautifully restored piece of Wigan’s cotton mill history.
