West One, Leeds

West One is part of the Bruntwood Works Pioneer project in the heart of Leeds Financial District. It offers flexible serviced office and meeting spaces along with collaborative breakout areas to share ideas and relax.

Amspec were chosen on behalf of Bruntwood to do the strip out and refurbishment of the majority of the second floor. Using Cathy Mocke’s drawings from 3D Reid, we manufactured all the bespoke joinery products in our inhouse workshop.

Teapoint

The main focal point of the common area is a large central teapoint. It was manufactured using Oak veneer door fronts with integrated appliances (including a zip tap, dishwasher and fridges) and topped with a 7m solid surface corian worktop. Above the worktop hangs a 6.5m long suspended gantry unit with feature pendent and strip lighting containing live plants sourced from I want Plants. We worked alongside a specialist to ensure that the load is safely suspended over the kitchen.

Amenity Workstations

We also manufactured and installed four Amenity Workstations featuring solid oak slats which were painted and lacquered on two of the faces. The paint was specially mixed to match the laminate flooring. The slats were installed in semi circles around the workstations to section off private work areas.

Telephone Booths

We also built 4 telephone booths to offer space for private phone call and meetings. Inside, features solid oak wall panelling and an upholstered acoustic feature wall designed to absorb sound. The feature wall was made from a flexible plywood backboard and MDF boards wrapped in Camira Blazer acoustically transparent fabric.

Other works

Other works included 300m2 of carpet and all other flooring, all manifestations, AC, M&E and fire alarms. We also worked with Security Plex to install fob access, integrated with fire control, to provide controlled entry and exit to all the suites.
